Ignifex

Discord Pantheon - Minor God of Molten Fury, Passion, Craft

Overview

Ignifex is the embodiment of fire’s hunger when passion eclipses control. He is both the ecstatic heat of creation and the ruinous blaze of unchecked temper. To his followers, the forge is sacred not because it builds, but because it consumes, reshaping all it touches. Where Pyroxis seeks ambition through flame, Ignifex is the fire of obsession: the craftsman hammering until their hands bleed, the lover burning in jealousy, the berserker consumed in frenzy.

Domains

Molten Fury, Passion, Craft

Symbol

A blackened hammer striking a fiery anvil, sparks flaring into wild tongues of flame.

Eldorian Name

Ignifex (TBD)

Worship

Favoured Offerings

Buckets of molten metal poured onto stone, red-hot coals left smouldering through the night, and blades tempered in fire without quenching. Some cults demand offerings be ruined in the forge, proof that Ignifex’s flames claim more than they preserve.

Typical Followers

Berserker-smiths who believe rage strengthens their craft, fire-worshippers who see destruction as purification, and outcasts who let passion override all restraint. Many blacksmiths secretly mutter his name when a forge fire leaps too high, fearing his hand in every uncontrolled flame. Cults of Ignifex sometimes masquerade as artisan guilds, but their true work is fire-born chaos.

Temples & Orders

Volcano shrines where magma itself is venerated, forge-temples built over magma vents, and furnaces kept burning until collapse. His worshippers often carry portable braziers as wandering altars, spilling sparks wherever they walk. Some orders style themselves as the “Ashen Forgers,” leaving their works intentionally flawed so that fire, not perfection, defines their craft.

Lore

Ignifex is said to have been born from the first sparks that leapt when fire was struck from stone. Myths describe him as the flame that refused to die, burning hotter the more it was denied. He is invoked when tempers flare and when passions overwhelm reason, his presence blamed for both inspired genius and reckless destruction. Folktales claim that every forge-fire has a “breath of Ignifex” in it, and when a blaze grows beyond control, it is because his fury has claimed it.

Common Knowledge in Eldoria

“Leave the bucket out for Ignifex” is a saying in villages near smithies, warning that cooling water should always be kept ready lest the forge fire rise too high. Children are told that playing near forges at night will wake Ignifex, who drags the careless into his furnace. When a craftsman becomes dangerously obsessed with their work, people whisper, “Ignifex has stoked his fire.”
